Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation Supports Flashes of Hope

March 06, 2012

Flashes of Hope, a non-profit national organization, was founded in 2001 by parents of an 18-month old who was diagnosed with cancer. Their goal was to create uplifting portraits of children fighting cancer and other life-threatening illnesses to help them feel better about their changing appearance by celebrating it. These portraits preserve forever the beauty, grace and courage of each child that fights a daily battle against disease.

In 2006, NCCF was designated as the first and only Flashes of Hope - Nevada Chapter. The first photo shoot took place at Sunrise Children’s Hospital and has since expanded to local pediatric clinics, area hospitals, and NCCF’s Camp Cartwheel.

Each family is presented with a portrait package consisting of two 8 x 10 photographs in leather casing, 4 x 6 prints of all proofs, and a CD of all images.

Please contact Andrea Rapanos, NCCF’s Las Vegas Chapter Director, at 702.735.8434 for a Flashes of Hope schedule and if you would like to participate or become a volunteer photographer or make-up artist.

Thank you to Kenneth and Barbara Gunn of BK Photography LLC for taking these beautiful photos. (click on link to see photos)
