Blue Jackets Foundation Partner Spotlight- Flashes of Hope

July 03, 2012  |  Posted by Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation News - July 2012

Flashes of Hope changes the way children with serious illnesses see themselves through beautiful professional photographs. This year's grant from the Blue Jackets Foundation will be used to create uplifting photographs of children fighting cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and will provide families with a free portfolio of their photographs.

The Foundation is the founding benefactor of the Columbus Flashes of Hope chapter at Nationwide Children's Hospital and has supported this program since the 2006. Since then, nearly 500 children have been photographed at the hospital. Each year the Foundation hosts a photo shoot at Nationwide Arena where our Black Tie Blue Jackets Style Show models get their photos with Blue Jackets players. This year, the program has expanded to serve campers at Flying Horse Farms, where 45 children were photographed in the first shoot.
