"When my 18-month-old son, Quinn, had cancer, I got to know so many other sick kids and their wonderful families at Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital," says Allison Clarke, founder of Flashes of Hope. "Then my son's buddy, Mandwell, lost his battle. I remember wishing we had a photograph of him: one that captured his special spirit. That was when the Rainbow staff encouraged me to create Flashes."

Founded in 2001, Flashes of Hope had its first photo session at Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Since then, Flashes of Hope has expanded nationally to open chapters in major cities across the US, including Atlanta, Boston, Denver, New York, Baltimore, Indianapolis, Tampa Bay, Orlando, Phoenix, Raleigh, NC, Las Vegas, Northern Virginia, Minneapolis, Philadelphia and Madison, WI. More than 2500 children will be photographed this year alone. Flashes of Hope has a long waiting list to begin it's program in more than 20 additional pediatric hospitals across the country. The generous grant from Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital helps to fund operational costs for the organization and support for opening additional chapters each year.
