Directors thankful for kickball event

July 29, 2010

To the editor:

The Akron Chapter of Flashes of Hope would like to take this opportunity to thank the Revere and surrounding communities for their wonderful support of the Second Annual Kick-It for Kids in Memory of Brian Montgomery, which was held June 27 at the Bath Community Activity Center.

Kick-It is a fundraising event with a simple concept — play kickball to unite communities in the fight against pediatric cancer. One hundred percent of the proceeds benefit the Children’s Oncology Group and the Children’s Tumor Foundation. With the generous support of the community, almost $4,700 was raised by playing kickball in memory of a wonderful little boy who lost his battle to a brain tumor at the age of 8.

Thanks again to the amazing families who supported our event and a special thank you to Mr. Robert Parker with Mountain Martial Arts for his continued support of the Montgomery family.

We look forward to playing kickball with everyone again next summer!
