Longest kickball game: Padua students set world record

June 01, 2011

41 Padua Franciscan High School students played a kickball game for 51 hours, a total of 475 innings - setting the new world record for the longest continuous kickball game.

The Guinness world record for the longest marathon playing kickball is 50 hr 00 min by the Mercy Project (USA) at Community Park in Rowlett, Texas, USA.

Their efforts were also an opportunity to raise money for "Kick It," an organization that raises money for childhood cancer research, WKYC-TV, Cleveland, reported.

Quinn Clarke, 10, the founder of "Kick It" in Northeast Ohio, was on hand for the start of the kickball game. Joining Clarke was Cleveland Indians mascot Slider.

The students raised over $10,000 for "Kick-It", a fundraising program founded in Cleveland by 10-year-old cancer patient Quinn Clarke and his family.
