We Care Ride kick-off bash, January 30, 2015

December 26, 2014  |  Posted by Lisa Petrocelli

Founded in 2001 by the parents of a child with cancer, Flashes of Hope is a volunteer-driven organization solely focused on children's cancer. With chapters in 55 cities, the organization works with professional photographers who donate their services to photograph more than 50% of the children annually diagnosed in the United States. For too many families, the portrait taken by participating photographers is the last one they have of their child.

Cancer is the leading disease killer of children, yet childhood cancer receives only 4% of federal funding for research. Flashes of Hope is an organization that raises funds to accelerate a cure for children's cancer while honoring the unique life and memories of every child fighting cancer.

This year, the We Care Ride will be dedicated to raising funds for Flashes of Hope. Local photographer Dino Petrocelli began photographing children with cancer through this organization and has vowed to continue donating his time and energy to this cause for as long as necessary. The We Care Ride will be held on September 20, 2015. To kick-off this year’s event, there will be a We Care Ride Kick-Off Bash held on January 30, 2015, at 60 State Street in Albany, New York. There will be raffles, a 50/50, auctions, and great music by The Accents. Tickets are $50 per person, which includes dinner and music. All funds raised at this event will be deposited into the We Care Ride account to benefit Flashes of Hope, local families, and other charities within our local communities.

Please contact Dino Petrocelli at 518-229-6005 for tickets to what will surely be an unforgettable night, and help support this very worthwhile cause.
